I was never a runner before coming to Australia.
Well, I guess I'm still not a runner. More of a jogger.
But getting outside first thing in the morning, seeing the brilliant reddish-orange peeking over the hills, hearing birds singing their hearts out, and pounding my sneakered feet against the pavement is really satisfying.
During my six months on DTS I dubbed this morning routine my 'God jogs', because I used it to connect with God each morning. No ipod. Just me talking to my Heavenly Father about what's going on inside. These runs have been such a great start to my day both on a physical and spiritual level. It's especially true when I don't feel like getting outside. I push myself, and in the end feel so much better. Not only for having used my body, but also for talking with God about my life.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24
