Same planet, different world

View from the balcony outside my room
I am about to start my first FULL day here at YWAM Brisbane. And right now I'm full of mixed emotions about what lies ahead over the next six months.

But one of the overwhelming things of which I am becoming aware is nature. The trees here are so beautiful - a stunning purple blossom tree is my favourite - and so are the birds - some with beautiful singing others almost like screeching monkeys. It's really hard to believe this is the same Earth that also houses Canada.

Also coming to YWAM is opening up my experience to different nationalities. I'll have to count, but there are likely two dozens countries represented on the base between the two DTSs and staff. We're all from the same world, but come from so many different backgrounds. It will be a pleasure to get to know people's unique little habits.

The one thing that is common among us all, no matter where we have travelled from, is our love for God. Our first worship time last night was proof of that. Each student sang out to God - in praise and in demand that He use us for His purpose. Awesome.
